Garbage Disposal Guidelines & Tips

Items to NEVER put down your disposal:
• Starch
-rice
-pasta
-potatoes & peels
-breads
• Fibers
-celery
-carrot tops
-asparagus
-artichoke leaves
• Grease
-bacon drippings, etc.
• Paper products
-tea bags
-coffee filters
-paper towels
• Pits/bones/shells
-egg shells
-peach pits
-chicken bones
-shrimp tails
-crab shells

How to CLEAN your disposal:
• Ice cubes
• 3 tbls. baking soda/1/4 cup vinegar

Following these guidelines will help prevent your disposal from clogging as well as preventing other problems within the building.
