Building Alarm 8/7/07
The building alarm that went off at approximately 8:30 PM was caused by our plumber soldering a pipe (please see previous posts for more information). Our fire alarm monitoring company contacted the fire department who arrived in less than 5 minutes. The fire department was informed of the situation by Reba, inspected the site as well as our alert system and determined that there was no fire or emergency. After the building was deemed safe and the system was reset by the fire department, Reba made an announcement on the building’s public address system letting residents know that there was no fire and that they could safely return to their units. If you were home during this time and could not hear the alarm or Reba’s announcement, please contact her so that the alarm on your floor or speaker in your unit can be tested. Work being performed on floors 19-24
Due to a water leak, which was discovered today in the hallway of floor 24, there will be fans and dehumidifiers placed in the hallways of floors 19-24. The effected walls have been vented to allow air to circulate and remove all moisture. This will prevent mold growth and protect the area from being damaged further. Every effort is being made to complete this work as quickly and efficiently as possible. We expect the work to be completed within a month if not sooner.
